Hiya i just won a W800i on fleabay it says its a upgrade contract mobile provided by vodaphone and its got no branding on the case anyone know if its likely to be branded to hell and locked? as i want to use it on o2 :)

Thanks

Mike :)

Just because its a walkman phone doesnt mean it wont be branded, i just got a w900i on vodafone that had all kinds of changes, although this was nothing an £8 log and a data cable couldnt fix :)

Cool sounds like they arent actually any W800i`s network branded! :) looks like only thing is done is simlock which when i visited a shop today they said it costs £10 to clear :)

..shame paypal isnt letting me pay for the phone yet due to it being over £140 :( guess another few days .. :)

Thanks for the info :)

I believe Sony are not allowing any "External" branding on their Walkman phones.
Internally, software wise branding does go on.
That is why if you use the SEUS then you'll get upgraded to a different version of the software depending on your network provider and which country you are in.
Just before Christmas there was a new firmware update for the W800i.
Orange UK customers had to wait an extra week before SEUS would work for them while Orange finished testing.

Hiya got my w800i and the only branding on it is a vodaphone live icon in the top middle of the main menu i have been told if i take it into an o2 store they could flash it free of charge for me is that true?

Also how loose is your memory stick covers mine sticks out a bit would have thought it would clicked in flush to the case

thanks

mike

The actual cover is flush to the casing on mine.
However there is a small "lip" across the top edge where you'd use a thumb-nail or similar to actually open the Memory Slot.

mines vodafone and all i haev is a link to vodafone live, everything else is normal :) (unlocked to any network aswell)

edit, mine sits flush apart from the little lip to open it
