I'm trying to send picture messages on my w810i on the t-mobile flext contract.

I havent ever had a phone with picture messaging capabilities before, and dont want to incur any extra costs over my monthly flext allowance.

So basically do i just go to the picture and send by picture message? as this is what im trying and im looking in the phone settings on my w810 and it appears to be sending via a webserver is this the correct way for my phone to be sending it or should it be going via a service centre, a la sms.

Thanks

SoliD

MMS will send through GPRS.

I've not used a w810i before, but I expect you'd either go one of two ways...

Messages > create new MMS message

or

Pictures > options > send to

They'll both end up at the same screen. When you say it's trying to send through a webserver, how do you mean? You should see a GPRS logo (capital G) on the phone somewhere whilst it's sending it.

Normally a MMS is 3x price of texts. Some contracts dock 3 texts from your monthly text allowance, others just charge around 35p.

ahh thats cool, just didnt want to be charged extra for them, as on the w810 it has a counter for txt msgs but it was coming up as being sent as data, i mean webserver as in a web address rather than a telephone number for the message server not worried about cost, only 20p per msg in the included allowance.

Still cant send mms, this is getting quite annoying, i'm getting the gprs signal, but nothing is going out!

Also i have just got onto t-mobile online, and looking at my bill it says i only have an allowance of 5 picture messages? is this correct? as surely im allowed as many as i want under the flext contract.

Can't you go to the T-Mobile website and send the settings to your phone? Thats what I did with 02 and it sorted itself out.

i have done this, but to no avail, really annoying me now. tried everything it seems but just no luck!

Ring t-mobile. The settings in the handset may be correct but your actual mobile number at the network may not be enabled for mms messages - a quick call should sort that out :D

Go to the Sony Ericsson site and download their settings for MMS on your phone and see if those work instead?
