w810i serious problem... HELP!

i have had my w810i for about 6 months, maybe more, and all has been terrific. brilliant phone.

but today i was at work and i got a text, pressed the button to open the text and then the whole phone froze, i left it for about 5 minutes and nothing. i then tried turning it off, nothing. i took the battery out and put it back in.
turned it on and all that happens is that the screen flashes white then black then white then black.

and thats it!!

anybody know whats wrong?

speak to o2 - think SE phones have 2 years garentee

Yep SE's warrenty is now 2yrs so o2 will either ask you to contact SE or they will do it and send the phone to SE on your behalf i would have thought

Seeing as you have very little to lose at this point anyway, have you tried updating the phone's firmware using the Sony Ericsson update service? Perhaps (if the update actually goes through) the new software could solve the problem.

The whiteout screen type problem sounds very much like the issues people had/have with the K750i and K800i etc, which is often resolved with a firmware update. I'm not sure whether your phone works enough to actually accept the firmware update, though.
