Hi All

I've had this phone a while now with no problems but in the past month or two the signal constantly fluctuates between nothing, full, full with 3g, none with 3g and everything in between.

It's been back to vodafone twice, first time they updated the firmware. 2nd time they replaced the antenae but I still have the same problem. My friends on vodafone don't have the same issues in the same areas and my sim card in my old p910i works fine.

First question is whether anyone has any ideas to fix it, the other question is where do I stand with Vodafone? Do I have to keep sending back and receiving repairs that don't work or can I kick off and either cancel my contract (phone is no good to me if I can't make calls) or ask a new phone?

Thanks

one solution is to set the phone to only use GSM and NOT 3G (in phone settings somewhere). This helped with the dropped calls/unavailable network for me.

Then i dropped it 3 stories down a stairwell. Phone exploded! Powered up fine, but now has real problems getting a signal so i assume i have broken the antenna.

Wonder if is possible to get them fixed out of warranty reasonably affordably.

If the handset has been sent off for repair twice and you're still having difficulties then it could be the SIM itself that is faulty. Have you tested it in another handset (e.g. a friends' phone?).

If you still have problems in another handset you could always contact Vodafone by either telephone or the email field on their website (www.vodafone.co.uk, 'contact us' and email( and ask for a blank SIM to be sent out to you, when you receive this Vodafone can reconnect your number to the new SIM.

The first thing I'd do would be to try the current SIM in another phone.
