Wacom Intuos A4 Wide?

right, i looked into it and the special ed is not going to be released in the uk so i went ahead and bought one from the states ( so i have two now  ) - but i just wanted to ask people who use them, i have no usable warranty as obviously is a US one, are these things rock stable like they seem to be or can quirky things occur which will cause me problems leaving me up poo creak?

My old A6 one has lasted me 9 months no problems but I hardly used it.
Current 6x11 is going well after 15 days, wow just saying that seems like its half the length of time I've had it!

If it does go wrong your only option is to send it back to USA direct or to someone who lives in USA, what I have planned if anything goes wrong.
I've not heard of any problems with them though, seem quite sturdy :)

sound mate, you not tempted with the special ed tom? i couldn't resits it to match my samsung 226 and razor tarantula :D

They are reliable, someone on the cgtalk forums still uses the intuous 1 and for a year he was using it as a tray for eating his food :)

Spec Edition does look nice for being black, and would go nice if I had a macbook black but macbook pro, Dell 24" and 6x11 Wacom does me nicely :D All different colours but I've never really looked at them all together until now, you've just made me notice how odd they all look! Naughty! :p

Nice to know Choas lol, I definitely wont be using this as a tray for food though lol

Need to set myself daily things to draw, let me know when you get your tablet QuickSilver, can set each things to draw every day, stops me from drawing the same type of things that way and not exploring any other styles!

could someone with an A5 wide (uk version) mind measuring the main active bit in the center for me? i could swear my us version is wider than the pictures of the uk ones...

mine measures 28.5cm x 16.8cm

bloody love it tho :)

6"x11" is what wacom.com states, which is 27.94cm x 15.24cm
yeah i know but i'm just saying could someone measure the actual grey bit in the middle? mind seems a fair bit wider and was wondering if uk and us sizes are the same thats all :)

the us and uk sites quote different active area sizes ya see :)

another quick question about the intuos3...

the overlay bit in the middle (the lighter active area) can be lifted up at the bottom left, is this how it is supposed to be? is it a replaceable part like a snap on phone cover or is mine missing some glue? :p

It's replacable, and it's also so you can put things underneath and trace them.

I love my wacom tablet, or at least I did until someone stole my pen. :(

phew ^ was just about to upload a picture of that, mines come away and I tought I'd broken it!
How would you trace something though , you cant see through it?

Can I stick it back down somehow as I dont like it flapping about :/

mines just a solid grey colour, same colour slightly lighter than the buttons on either side of the drawing surface.

Hope I haven't naffed something up here lol

huh, just noticed in my intuos3 box i have a transparent overlay :) very interesting... the current one seems well stuck down at the top tho i wouldn't want to yank that off

once you rip one off, is that game over? cant be stuck on again?
