Hello!

I have a Linksys WAG54G wireless/router/modem/firewall/kitchen sink thing that keeps dropping my net connection. This is via the ethernet cable, I don't have the wireless activated at the moment. It's sporadic and the only way around it is to unplug the thing and wait for it to restart, does anyone know how to sort this out? I'm up for getting something else as long as it's an all-in-one that'll be good for gaming.

Many Thanks in advance. :)

In Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right click the ethernet adapter > Properties > Advanced,

what is Speed and Duplex set to?

What's dropping? The router's connection to the internet (and at what level: losing sync, i.e. the DSL light going out, i.e. or just the PPP session, i.e. the router's still up and synched but isn't "connected to the ISP"), the machine's connection to the router, or what?

I had the exact same problem with mine, evenutally I just bought a new router because it was starting to get more and more annoying.

I recently leant it to a mate though after his sky modem died and it seems far more stable and reliable on sky, guess it just didnt like my AOhell connection.

Thanks for the replies guys! :)

It's set to "Full autonegotiation"

The session light goes out. The computer still sees the router though.

Ahhh...good question, it's got ADSL, Act and Session lights on the front, the Session one goes out when the internet stops working so I think it's dropping the connection between the router and the internet, I can still get into the web browser setup thing though.
