Right, so overclockers have FINALLY got round to getting me my reservoir as the old bay res started leaking :\.

I want to bleed it, install new res and refill now but I have only got the green corsair/swiftech additive and my new 3d Aurora has blue fans so I'm gonna get some blue stuff.

Am I right in saying it should be fine for me to just use distilled water until it arrives in about two days time? If not, is there anything I can add to help tide it over till then? Thing is I've been waiting ages (Since before christmas  ) and am itching to get into me new case.

TYVM for any help you can give

Z.

Thats fine i dont see any algae forming in a few days :)

Your probably safe for over a month to be honest and i know lots of people dont even use an additive

I know it's probably in a guide (ALthough I think the watercooling guide has disappeared :O) is there a decent totally exterminating cleaning method, as my tubes are opaque with algae/air bubbles. I heard boiling water flushed through is good?

Oh ty btw for reply

If the tubing is stained white it will probably never clean up, TBH. Get some new tubing.

And the loop will be fine without additives for a while.

if salt doesnt damage it ( i dunno, i'm not an owner of water cooling) you could always add a bit of salt in to make it harder for algae to form. just how algae gets in in the first place, i don't know 0_o.

It's only opaque when running as the air bubbles kind of spread about. Tubing isn't stained, when the loop is off it's very clear (apart from green additive atm) with noticeable air bubbles. This hasn't touched performance yet, but I think it's the reason the pump's gone helluva loud.

Oh dear..... seems like the leaking of the reservoir and thus the introduction of air into the loop, and empty space in the res for the water to bubble up in gave caused the whole res to turn into a frothy mess. Just opened it up with the loop running, shook it about and there was nothing but bubbles inside. Looks like I'll be fitting this res ASAP :\
