Wait For GTX480???

It is also killing me but I finally thought. I am wanting to do 3D gaming in the future so i mgiht as well wait for the GTX480 :)

The problem is that you can't ever really buy hardware for an expectation that may not even surface for another 12-18months. Anything that will utilise any drastically new technology won't effect us as consumers for at least 12 month by which time your GTX480 will be superseded by something more powerful. Save your ping, would be my advice, and get something that suits your demands now and also protects you for the duration till the demand is really there.
 
i would wait because you will win either way,if the nvidia card is the dogs conkers then amd will drop there prices and you will get 2 5870's for almost the price of one gtx380
or if its not dogs conkers you can get a proven dx11 card/s for again almost the same price as the nvidia card
 
No harm in waiting a couple more weeks. By then official spec will be out and benchmarks will be done. Stock may be limited but at least you will have an idea if its worth while waiting for stock or if you should buy an ATI variant.
