I placed an order for the following AM2 system around 2 weeks ago:
CP-167-AM AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000+ 2.00GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail (CP-167-AM) 1
£199.95 £199.95
MB-142-AS Asus M2N32-SLi-DLX nForce 590 SLi (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-142-AS) 1
£119.95 £119.95
GX-038-OK OcUK GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-038-OK) 1
£259.95 £259.95
HS-021-ZA Zalman CNPS9500-AM2 Aero Flower (Socket AM2/939/754) CPU Cooler (HS-021-ZA) 1
£29.95 £29.95
HD-000-AB Abit Serillel 2 (HD-000-AB) 1
£12.95 £12.95
MY-108-CS Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB) (MY-108-CS) 1
£174.95 £174.95
Subtotal £797.70
Shipping (Parcelforce Euro 48) £22.00
VAT £143.45
Total £963.15
However, the processor has been showing as 1-3 days for the whole time and OcUK say that they don't have any due date for it. I've looked all over the place and I can't find it in stock anywhere, not even in American shops or anything. I'm guessing AMD are having some problem manufacturing the 1MB cache versions of the AM2 X2 since the 4400+ is out of stock as well.
I have a feeling that it's not going to be coming into stock any time soon, so I'm considering going for the 3800+. Would I be losing that much performance from the smaller cache? And I presume the 3800+ would be a good overclocker as well? The 4000+ definitely seems to overclock well from some reviews I've seen so I'd hope the 3800+ would be similar.
Thanks in advance
