Hi guys,

Just wondered what you guys would do in this situation. I recently moved to a new flat which isnt in a VM Area and i used to be with VM at my old place.

Now VM are saying they will install cable at my new property however they are waiting for the council to give them permission to dig up the roads to do it.

Its already been a month of waiting (they are blaming it on the council being slow at replying to them). Would you stay and wait out the installation date or install a new BT line and get adsl at the price of £125?

I would be tempted to get BT in, as whilst VM are now starting to fill in gaps in their coverage (I assume surrounding areas have VM but your street doesn't?), it is still likely to be a long time as they aren't in a rush from what i've heard (for one thing it's expensive to do, so they'll probably do it one area/street at a time).

IIRC you may be able to get a free BT line with certain contracts/providers.

My street is enabled its just my building doesnt have a cable line going into it because it was using ADSL at the time they installed it.

im still torn but i think BT would be the much faster option.
