Wait to upgrade

Chaps,

I have been looking into upgrading my machine (in sig).

However I have heard there is a new Intel CPU 'Westmere' being released soon.

Should I wait for this or go for an i5 and overclock it?

I mainly use it for gaming / photoshop / lightroom work.

Any Ideas appreciated!

Do you need the pc just now - go for it.

If you are prepaired to wait till jan onward - wait.

I would say go for it just now mate, dont just limit yourself to Intel aswell.

Budget are we talking? what you looking to upgrade - case, psu, dvd drive etc all that aswell or just the cpu/mobo/ram?

Well im fairly happy with mine atm but im itching for a new build.

Im prepaired to wait if its worth it.

Budget prob around £1000 for CPU/Mobo/RAM/Case/PSU?(Current: OCZ 600w Modx)/Case
