Wake from Sleep

Ok

I have never ever got it to work or respond and it driving me nuts.

I have just started to use Home Sharing in iTune to work with my iPad no problem at all..

The problem comes if the iMac gone to sleep the iPad cant appear to wake it up. Yes I have Wake for network access ticked but still wont do the trick

Am I right in thinking that the iMac has to be connected to a Router by wire not wireless for this to work?

I asked roughly the same question a week or so ago and the general consensus is it's broken.

My Mac Mini will receive the signal when in sleep over WiFi, But wont fully wake up, There isn't anything on screen and no life but the power light will show it's woken up. It then just goes back to sleep after 5 seconds.

That a bit silly isnt it what the point of Home Sharing then

iPad has started to get full so wanted to get music off the iMac instead while at home to play to the sound dock.

Not looking good is it

Im in the same boat, Use mine for Plex to share Movies and Music but I'd obviously like it to go to sleep when not used.

Need to get hold of Apple and tell them it broke.... But am sure they are aware of it thou maybe a fix on the way all be well
