...I mean with my pc (tho I also have them :p)

PC worked fine before, with the occasional glitch from the VIA USB 3 ports on the Z77X-UP4 mobo. I shifted the hardware into a new case recently: the only things that changed were the case, power supply (to a Superflower 1000W) and secondary HDD. The other things I changed were the keyboard and mouse (previously both Logitech and now a Corsair K40 keyboard and Gigabyte M8000X mouse). These were/are all connected to the Intel USB3 ports.

Since this change, the computer goes to sleep fine. When I wake it, it powers on, but there's no response from the monitor, keyboard and mouse. Monitor stays off. The lights on the keyboard and mouse will turn on for a split second and then switch off, and then nothing... There's no response from anything. I've tried it without the keyboard and mouse, using another old mouse in a USB 2 port; I've tried uninstalling both Intel and VIA USB 3 drivers; I've tried different drivers for both, etc.

Any help seriously welcome - this is incredibly frustrating!!!

its probably bios compatibility with new kb/mouse that's stopping it from resuming idk

im using above bios for months with no isues

Wazza, you're always on top of any gigabyte board problem - cheers! :) However I realised what it was: I'd enabled the fast boot option. Disabling this has sorted the problem. Not sure why, but it seemed to mess with loading up things up from sleep...

However I still have a related (?) issue. Between loading Windows and showing the logon/welcome screen, there's quite a long wait on a black screen showing the mouse cursor. Again, I think it's to do with the VIA usb 3 drivers... Any ideas?

yh fast boot never worked 100% for me

try booting without your mouse/kb attached see if its quicker,it could be down to detecting those (the long pause)

I have the usb3 drivers installed and no pause at startup

cheap generic xenta mouse and razer lycosa kb

Ok, that problem has resolved itself. Booting up is fine. Now a different problem has surfaced...
I logged into windows, and neither the USB soundcard or wifi dongle, which are plugged into 2 of the VIA ports, were recognised. This has happened before, and swapping to the other VIA ports or rebooting has always solved the problem. However this time it didn't. None of the VIA ports are responding to either the soundcard or dongle, or to the mouse or keyboard. They ARE however fine with a flash memory stick. It's as if they're suddenly don't have enough power??!

Can they have crapped up? I've tried about 4 different driver versions, and same result each time. This is really p***ing me off, because the rest of this board is great!!

Sry, didnt have much time to mess around. Anyway those ports seem to be working again. That's the driver I was using tho. The system has randomly frozen a couple of times since tho. No bsods or error messages; just freeze and then up as normal after a reset. Both times was listening to music and the sound went a few seconds before the system froze (USB soundcard is connected to the VIA ports). Is there a way of identifying the cause? No dump files and event viewer doesn't provide much info...

On a positive note, I discovered that the on/off charge works fine - just with the rear USB 3 ports :D

are you stock or overclocked? and how much memory you have?

even if at stock or oc'd I would manually set the cpu/pci clock to 100

pwm phase control to extreme performance and vcore voltage response to fast

if running 16gb of ram id set cpu/vtt to 1.08v

you can look in windows event viewer to see what the last crash was

Thanks for your help Wazza, and apologies for my blundering guesswork... Seems to have been a problem with Winamp after all!! Periodic freeze-ups when playing music.... something others have experienced. Ah well.
