Hey folks I had our tv wall mounted last week, it's a Sony and has a moulded power cable which is unfortunately too short to reach the 6 way surge protector that the rest of the home entertainment stuff is plugged into.

The way I see it I can cut the existing cable and extend it, losing warranty,or simply buy a 1 gang extension lead, the only worry is that are extension leads like that generally frowned upon? Even more so given it would be plugging into a 6 way extension too... ?

Anyone with a similar issue after wall mounting their tv?

Ps - putting a new plug socket behind it is not possible.

99.9% sure it's moulded , I think a fair few Sony TVs are like that it seems.

If chopping the cable and putting one of those IEC plugs on is it safe or won't cause spikes in the wiring etc?
