I recently got an "entertainment unit" from Ikea that allows me to mount my LCD TV to the back of it with some re-inforced wood. I previously wasn't able to mount it as my walls are made of paper.

Now i have this unit thats designed to hold a large LCD/Plasma TV i need to know how i actually mount the bugger on it. Do i need to buy a mounting plate, fit that to the unit and then fit the TV onto it?

I have a Samsung 42" LE40R51B, its about a year old now but still a beauty!

Help?

If im right about the above - where would i buy a mounting plate?!

This any good?

Clicky

If this is a competitor please let me know and i'll remove, but would like to get opinions before i buy as £90 is quite expensive for a couple bits of metal!

that should do the job, providing you dont want to be able to pull it away from the wall or tip it side to side.

My dad has a bracket specially made cost about £300 but it was light as a feature, aluminium, so he could hide it away in a low level storage unit(orders of the missus)
He paid £1500 for his Tv 2 years ago because it needed an optical out to use with his AV amp, now Tv's can be had for half that with optical outs! P/Q is impressive tho.

Back on track,

theres another site, have a google see which one you like best ;)

Thanks :)

I've been googling around trying to find if my LE40R51 is compatible with the wall mount i posted above, its definately wall mountable as it has a little plastic bit you clip on when wall mounted. I would just look at the back of the TV but im at my girlfriends so miles away from it!

Any chance you have any idea whether it will fit with that bracket?

Right, have found those E.M.Z100/200 models for a lot cheaper on an online competitor so going to grab one of those, the higher model than the Argos posted above with better tilt is £30 cheaper after delivery!

Will also give me time to go home and measure the LCD to make sure it will fit before i buy...i doubt anybody will read this/care - but Benny you've helped me out, much appreciated :)

your welcome richieboy, here to help :) most LCD's today state that they are 'Vesa 100/200 compatible' which is the placement tha the screw holes are on the back of the TV, check which one your TV is, and match it to the bracket ;)

If your still not sure, pop down to a competeitor, and ask for some advice, and then leave when youve got the info :D
