Wall mounting monitor with arm?

Just been thinking and after a bit of searching wall mounts don't seem that expensive so this is something i'm considering.. I thought i'd run it past you guys first as i'm clueless.

I've got two monitors, (not identical but that doesn't matter right now) and i've set up my flight sim stuff, (Yoke and rudder pedals) however my desk is a computer desk and therefore you can't really put anything under it as it has shelves, so at the moment i've taken my main monitor off the back part of the desk (which is risen) and i'm sitting it on a pile of books so its at the front of the desk nearer my chair.. I've done this because the monitor felt too far away from my chair which has to be further back due to the rudder pedals not being able to go under the desk..

Hope that made sense, anyway I was thinking could I solve this by wall mounting my monitor/s with one of the mounts that has one of those arms, so in theory I could sit the monitor in nearly any position and pull it forward for when i'm flight simming..

Do they work like this? and has anyone got a wall mount like this? I noticed they aren't as expensive as I thought, some even under a tenner..

Thoughts?
Thanks
David

The really cheap ones wont work like that. They'll simply allow you to hang your monitor on the wall. The slightly more expensive ones may allow you to pull the monitor towards you/push it back and/or have a rails system allowing you to move it. The really expensive use a gasspring to offset the weight of the monitor and allow you to easily position the monitor in the desired location.

Thanks for the reply.. The cheaper ones still have arms, so I assumed they moved somewhat..

I suppose i'll look deeper into it, the cheaper ones do sound too good to be true but the reviews are all 4+ stars.
