Wall of Mac's.

I've been on my hols with my better half who goes to uni in LA. We went for a walk around the campus and along the way went into the new(ish) library which they spent $40 Million on.

Every work station is at least a 24" iMac, all the general info screens are 27" iMacs then there's this 'display'.

I can see where some of the money went lol.

We're both holding out for the refresh of the MBA's, whenever that happens but nearly gave into temptation after seeing the sea of Apple goodness lol.

Perhaps I'm missing the point. But couldn't the same effect be achieved with just 8x24" monitors plugged in to a single Mac/pc at a fraction of the price? If I was a student at that university I'd be questioning the spending strategy of the budget.

The whole uni bar one department use Mac's exclusively so I think it's just how they roll.

Also, they're not just screens. Each on is a fully functioning iMac!

I asked the same question as they spend silly amounts of money on stuff they could do cheaper. However, it's a very nice environment to be in.

Cinema displays do have speakers on the bottom look totally different to that so they are imacs but that was cleared up already.

That looks like someone failed to google borderless monitors or signal monitors.
Just because its Apple doesn't mean it is right for every solution.
90% of the time it really isn't..
