Any top tips for removing wall plugs from plasterboard without taking half the plaster around the exit hole with you?

I have filler and sandpaper but trying to save myself too much chew on.

I went with the screwdriver down the middle method and it isn't proving to be working well.

Doi didn't think of leaving the screw in a bit. Awesome thanks, will give that a go.

find a drill bit that's just slightly larger than the hole in the raw plug. drill right into the center of the plug, this normally spins them free.

I just usually grab them with long nose pliers and wiggle them out gently..
