Hi, I am going to be fitting a rack in the kitchen that will have pans hanging from it. Can you suggest anything I can put on the wall under the rack to protect it from the pans scratching it?

Thanks.

Maybe a stainless steel sheet, a perspex sheet or tiles. I suppose it depends on how they fit in with your decor. What is the rack made of?

Thanks for your reply Keylion. The wall is is a light green and the shelf a bronzed colour. I was thinking of maybe a clear plastic cover screwed into the wall? I have tiles under half of where the shelf will fit.

Have a look at hygeine boards such as Acrovyn or Altro Whiterock.

Personally I'd just bond it to the wall as opposed to screws though. Will look neater.

I black boarded a chunk of our kitchen wall. (tough black paint on ply)
This was because we had an area that got scrapes in it. It gets messages written on it etc (things like a list of cooking times to put things in at xmas when its manic)

Its not, but should it ever get really scruffy is easy to take off (its on with really smart looking mirror screws with caps) a light sand, quick top up of paint and good to go again
