got the perfect software for that, its called Scrollwall and like you have asked it will randomise any wallpaper on startup that you have added to the selection (done very very easily)

It has a very simply interface, uses veruy little memory, and also has another setting of different wallpaper every 10 mins, 1 hour etc.

I have used others but this one i stuck with as its exaclty what i wanted. threres even a way of not having the icon in the system tray which i hate if you have to have it there.

along a similar subject i really want a proggy that will let me put differant wallpapers on differant screens, i had ultramon for a while but it only lasted a month before wanted $30 for it which i think is far to much for such a basic program.
 
www.webshots.com was pretty good. Randomized wallpapers according to time (1hr, 2hr, 1 day, 1 week) etc, not sure if it was startup though.

If your running at a 800x600res, or even a 1024x768, their site has some great wallpapers! Some of the best i've seen. But for free, only avilable at 800x600. Streched to 1024x786, doesn't look bad though. They do have higher res, but yo need to pay a membership fee for those.

just uninstall and then reinstall, very simple and it works everytime. Keep the installer so that you dont have to download that everytime aswell.
