Ok so I'm new to linux, and I just installed mandriva One. It's working fine, but I can't figure out for the life of me why my wallpaper keeps disappearing on startup. I right click on the desktop and choose "Change desktop background" and choose a wallpaper. All is good until I reboot my computer and the wallpaper is gone, and the desktop is just black (I have a black theme installed). I'm guessing there must be a way to make the wallpaper stay but I can't find it :(

hmm... sorry, but I don't use gnome - so anything I advise would be a guess.

Where is the wallpaper stored (is it in your home folder)? and can you set any wallpaper and it disappears, or is it just the one you want?

Very strange indeed, the only thing i can think of is maybe the picture is on a partition that isnt mounted on boot (scrap that if its a default picture), or the permissions are screwing up, does your root acc have the same problem?

That's exactly what I was thinking ;)

Isn't Mandriva One a live image? I'm pretty sure it is and that means saving settings can be tough.

Are you sure its installed on your hard disk and you're not just booting live each time?

Lol I'm not that much of a linux noob :p

Checking the save session box in the shutdown window fixed it.
Thanks for taking the time out to help me guys.
