WAMP Server crawling

Hi, guys.

My WAMP Server is unbearably slow. Feels like I'm sending stuff to myself via Australia. Does anybody know why this could be, and what I can do to sort it out?

I'm going through localhost.

Apparently it's a known problem with the CMS I'm using (Drupal) - bits of the core are just slow. Got to be thankful for small mercies though - it only appears to affect a part of the admin section.
