wamp server phpBB setup help please!

Hello , I am trying to set up the phpBB forum but am having difficulty setting it up. I am using wamp server and cannot seem to get past the database settings step. I am getting the error message :
Could not connect to the database, see error message below.
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is MySql running?

Is dbhost set as localhost? If it is try your IP. If that doesn't work... ports?

I have a database called mysql but i dont have a programe called mysql , do I need it ?

its ok now , i have managed to do it , just had to set it up from localhost
