Hi,
I currently have
C2D E6600 2.4Ghz, rarely overclocked to 3, 3.2, 3.4(but cant get it stabilized)
Gigabyte P35-DS3R
4GB DDR2 Corsair value
Zebronics 8800GT Stock
160Gb+250Gb HDD
Zebronics 500 W
Asus Xonar D2
Logitech G25

I am confused to go completly for a new build or buy a C2Quad and GTX560Ti and nice PSU.

I play games on a 1080p res screen and some blueray movies.
What you guys suggest ? Is it good to go for a new build or buy the quad and GFX ?

Thanks
Denny

If you bought a C2Quad and a 560ti you will be throttling your gfx card quite a bit. I think it would be best if you went for a new build with an i5 2500k or something

thanks for all of your replies...
So going for a new build is best...

Just had put a rough build....
i5 2500k
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 (this board not here in OCUK ? )
2 x 4GB corsair vengeance DDR 3 1600 (is it good ?)
MSI GTX 570 twin forzr III OC
Antec truepower 650w (is it good ?)

below are optional--
1TB Samsung F3
corsair H50
sentry 2
5 x 120mm fans (suggestions ?)
Backlit Keyboard + mouse (suggestions ?)

Gigabyte Sandybridge boards don't get much love here. Anyway, there are plenty of other choices.

Rest looks great. Get low profile memory so you are not restricted in your choice of cooler (Vengeance Low Profile for example). However, 2 sticks of XMS3, Kingston HyperX, Crucial Ballistics will work as good, even under heavy overclock.

For the PSU, the Antec is great, but if you plan SLI later, get a 750 / 850W PSU with 4 PCIE connectors. If not bothered, then the TP-650 will be plenty. There are probably other choices, or course.

As for the cooler, I would just get a decent air cooler. I have the H50 and it's doing a fine job, but an air cooler will do the same, or even better (SilverArrow), at low noise as well.

For the Keyboard and mouse, it's all up to you really but You have quite a selection for keyboards. Sidewinder X4 (great value for money), Qpad MK-80, Mionic Zibal 60, Razer BlackWidow Ultimate, and a whole host of others (not a fan of Saitek myself).

For mice, Plenty of choices as well. Logitech G400, Razer Deathadder, Steelseries Xai, ... It's mostly a matter of preference. I like my Qpad 5K :)

Best post your personal preferences and we'll dissect the build. Don't know much about fan controllers and armies of fans, I suppose they come to their own with high overclocks for enthusiasts. Probably depends on the case too. If you get a Raven (lovely RV02W-EW), which are one of the best (and more stylish) cases, then a fan controller and fans are not necessary.

Thanks for the reply....

I actually like the gigabyte had 4 boards.. :D
Forgot to add that I already have a Gigabyte 3d rocket II cooler but its for 775( retention from 478) ... Is there any retention kits for mounting it ? (noise is not a problem for me)

The sidewinder x4 seems to be nice. For the mouse I would like just plain one, without any extra buttons.

I would like a z68 mobo which has onboard graphics connections (for backup).. About the GFX its 560ti or 570. Another thing is there any Ivy bridge ready boards out yet ?

I will be getting a cooler master 430 elite but it will take 4-5 months...The fans are really needed due to hot climate. :)

Thanks,
Denny

Probably best getting a new cooler.

The G400 is nice and understated.

Most have, although you have to double check on the gigabytes, as they sometimes don't (even their top boards).

Whichever you can afford really. Neither are bad.

The new 2011 socket is not out yet, and it will be crazy expensive. You have 1155 Gen 3 boards, but IvyBridge should be compatible with Z68 and P67 (needs double check).

4-5 months?

I really like that cooler :(.... How is corsair H50 ? I want keep clear the processor area and have fancy water cooling :P

Just saw the G400, it has buttons on left thumbs will be distracting while when its not needed... How are razors ?

I found a good board Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3853#ov

Actually I can afford a 560 (non-ti), but got extened to 560 ti and then 570... they have only 30 to 40 pounds differences...

Is the IvyBridge supported on all z68 boards. I need to figure out if the above board supports IB...

4-5 months?
:D Actaully am going to India in 4-5 months and will be be there hereafter if I dont get a job here in UK. I will be buying a cooler master 430 elite mostly. The large number of fans are really needed to keep the CPU cool.. :)

It does the job, but not the best atm.

Razers have buttons too. Can't say first hand, always used Logitechs (although I have now a Qpad 5K).

If you 'really' dont want thumb buttons, then the Steeseries Kinzu. But frankly, I could never go back to a three button mouse. The thumb buttons are far too useful, even on the desktop (Internet browsing back / forward).

There are loads of good Z68 boards. Double check on the features, such as integrated graphics support.

Performance pretty much scales with price. Although it's a law of diminishing returns.

Allegedly. Since Ivy is still a long way away, can't be sure.

If you get a water cooling kit, then the fans wont matter for the CPU, since the heat is directly transfered to the back of the case via the radiator and fan. However, more airflow will cool the motherboard components and hard drives better.
