Evening people
I have been playing a lot of MMO for the last few years. any idea for any other game i could play?

Don't mind if there are not free or i have to pay a month fee.
Thanks
Aston998.

I used to play it with some mates of my. But then there stopped so i was finding that i was getting bored. lol AKA quieting/stop playing the game.

B3 to use up a lot of your time :P
Max payne 3 is quite awesome and well worth the money
Making look into TF2 a free valve game, really good FPS.
Tribes Ascend is also a possibility, the best highspeed FPS around.

Multi Theft Auto - Race Mode. My all time fave driving game. I play on Mr Greens race server, up to 64 players ingame, amazingly difficult game to do well in, but so much fun you wont mind coming 20th! 20th is good out of 60 odd - winning doesnt matter for me in this game, its all about the little battles you have with other drivers for places.

I don't get these threads, especially when the request is simply "recommend me a non genre specific game"

That's so open ended its pointless, we have no idea of your past preferences. Just go on a game review site and browse is my recommendation.

OH WAITZ. I RECOMMEND KINGDOMS OF AMALUR RECKONING, I LIKED IT LOL.

Is DayZ that good?
It doesn't look that good to me....

Look at how much hype there has been around it for a game that is still in Alpha, has bugs, is run on a relatively old engine and is really difficult to get on a server. Would people happily overlook this unless it was so much fun?

It put Arma2 back to the top of the Steam chart for almost the whole of May and it's not even cheapest on Steam so people like me will have got it elsewhere.

I enjoy it, a lot of people on OcUK seem to as well given the popularity of the dayZ thread.

I haven't quite understood the appeal of dayz...yet.

I play arma 2 because I want a serious game of military coordinated teamplay action. Dayz is like...why are the arma 2 milsim nuts playing this mod which is about survival horror. I just don't understand the attraction for arma 2 fans.

I might "get it" eventually.

That's the thing, most "arma2 fans" don't particularly like it. They like ArmA2 because of the realism; as you say, it is a milsim. The majority of people playing DayZ are people that want an amazing zombie survival game, which is essentially what the mod is. The only link to Arma2 is that it's run on that engine, using the Arma files. It could be on any other engine when you think about it, but it was created by a BIS dev, on a BIS engine. It's just how it works out.

Those that prefer the realism side of Arma2, at least from what I've seen so far, tend not to like the more "fun" sides to Arma2 - like this.

I try to take games on their merit. Although DayZ has been produced using the ArmA engine and base files, I see it as a seperate game in its own right. It has taken some of the realism concepts from ArmA and applied them to a completely unrealistic situation.

I like it because it is unlike almost anything I've played before and going to loot a supermarket with a few of your mates doing everything to keep from upsetting any zombies is great fun.

I also like playing ArmA for it's own strong points.

Both games best played with friends.

Exactly my point, it should be seen in it's own light. :)

DayZ of course is a mod for Arma 2 but has, as mentioned, almost turned into a game in its own right. Buying ‘Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead’ to get your DayZ mod would be a good thing. O.k. DayZ in itself is a good mod/game, but Arma 2 is an experience similar to a mil sim (VBS2).
The only thing to point out is Arma 2 is really not a casual game, it’s a very large expansive open world war game with over 400 mods available, these include around 150 islands/maps that can be downloaded free from the very talented modding community that surrounds the arma series.
To play A2 as a group of friends, or mp on-line using team work is the best experience of its type available (of course you have to like war games).

Arma 2, well worth a purchase..
