hey guys.. spec is in my sig.

the stock cooler for the x2 3800 is quite loud i think, i want to get something less noisey and better at cooling. any suggestions on what i should go for?

also, what is the procedure for removing the paste off the cpu? how do i go about it exactly?

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 pro is best value for money and you can use speedfan to control the fan. Scythe ninja is better but more expensive, the mine is meant to be slightly better than the ninja however the Tuniq Tower is supposed to be the best available.
You can get special TIM cleaner or you can use isopropyl alcohol.

How much are you wanting to spend?

Yep, the best cooler is the tuniq tower apparently, but the freezer is best value like mikey said. To clean the thermal compound off you can just use some alcohol.. worked a treat here :p

Not like beer or something. Pure alcohol (ethanol) :)

Another vote for the artic cooling pro64, My mate just got one, turn the fan down and it is completely silent, turn it up to full and you can stll hardly hear it (this is on my mancontroler, it doesn't come with a fan controller)

Got the Scythe Ninja here. Awesome cooler. Discovered the other day that one of my IDE cables had snagged the fan so the cpu was being cooled passively. Idle temps had risen by only 3 degrees -just thought it was due to the summer weather lol

Another vote for Mr Pro 64 :)

Damn, great Ninja there.

I'd go for the Ninja personally but for your budget, Artic Cooler freezer 64 is your best Value performance cooler~
