Just picked up F1 2016 and the controller won't cut it anymore.

Any recommendations? Looking at the Logitech G29 atm but reading mixed reviews on the rainforest.

I had the choice between the G920 and the G29 as they were the same price. Went for the G29 due to the extra buttons and the LEDs. No regrets here. Very happy (upgraded from a Logitech Momo red)

Btw a lot of those rainforest reviews are very out of date. Mostly driver issues if I remember correctly and they've all been solved since. (That was one of my concerns when I bought my wheel)

Yeah I read the one stars and they're mostly to do with console users losing Logitech support on their older wheels or something. nothing to do with the actual product which is a bit pathetic.

Sorry, it's actually the G29 I meant, not the G920, though as I understand they are the same apart from buttons + LEDs.

Fully recommend it, so much so that I bought a second just because it was on offer at £135.

Ah finding it hard to pick. Torn between G29, G920 and Thrustmaster T300RS

Well, the T300 is the better wheel, but the G29/920 is the better package with it's superior pedals.

I guess it's down to whether you think you could live with the T300 pedals with an eye on upgrading them at a later date and having the option to easily change the rim too, or just going for the all around package with the Logitech.

Also depends on your budget, as you could go for the T300 Integral pack with the 599XX rim and T3PA pedals if it's in your price range.

I don't really have the budget for the integral pack. I was leaning towards the T300RS as I was thinking about keeping the stock pedals for now and then upgrading them and getting myself an F1 wheel.

How bad are the T300 pedals?

They're perhaps a tad better than the DFGT's if you've ever tried those.
While they're relatively poor when compared to good stuff like Clubsports, they'll get you by until you're ready to upgrade.

Thanks. This will be my first wheel/pedals so no experience with any other ones but I've heard of fanatec which is way out of my price especially for me a beginner.

Think I'll put in an order now for the T300RS, upgrade the pedals in a month or two and see how serious I get into these sims.

Thanks

Ok, well I hope that F1 2016 has better wheel feel than past efforts... If not, grab Assetto Corsa and enjoy the good stuff :) Actually, do it anyway :D

Is a sim like Assetto Corsa too much for a newbie? Picked up F1 2016 yesterday and absolutely love the game minus the controller. New to the racing world.

Sorry to bother. Bought the T300RS but not sure which pedal to go for. T3PA or T3PA Pro

I've got both sets of pedals.

There really is no difference if I am honest.

Just go for the T3PA, the T3PA Pro (which are brand new) is just collecting dust. Really regret buying them.

Only thing the Pro does is the different position and it does not make a blind bit of difference. I actually prefer the normal setup position!

Went for the T3PA's. Really don't see me ever inverting them. They come with the brake mod right?

Yes. Not that I use it.

Another thing you might want in the future is the Thrustmaster TH8 RS Shifter. It's a must have for dirt rally, I've got 2!

One for gears, the other for handbrake.
