Evening all,

As pr the tittle really, when it comes to monitors I really am blind. I just wander round a shop and go "that one looks ok" however I'm now ready to upgrade my 24" 1080p. My spec is in my sig so i7 with a 980 so ideally would like to take advantage of that by going 1440, games I play are arma3, battlefield 4, Fsx and a few other titles. I have a Huge desk so no limit really on size but I guess 27inch looks the sweet spot? I don't watch films on it as it's connected to a large to in the same room for that. Ideally I would like to spend about £350 howver it's by no means the budget if it's really worth spending £400 or even more I will consider it if the benefits are really that much.

Open to suggestions and ideas as I really am not clued up with all these millions of contrast figures etc.

:)

Personally I really like the BenQ GW2765HT so have a look at that. Whether you want to take advantage of Gsync is up to you but that usually costs extra (and to look for a different monitor; there's little choice at your price range for that). One of the downsides of going Nvidia I guess.

I'm in the same position as the OP, per my thread here

Like Poneros I'm liking the look of the BenQ - appears to tick all the boxes for me and I've not seen much in the way of negatives from all of the reviews I've read!

Cheers guys that looks a decent monitor on paper. Will the response time cause an issue ? Also is gsync really worth it ? Im not really one for scrutinising a screen.

I'm by no means an expert, as you can see from my own thread, but it occurs to me that 4ms isn't bad for an IPS screen - I believe that the TN screens are better refresh-rate wise (ie. for hardcore FPS players!)

I think the refresh rate on my existing Dell screen is 5ms and I can't say I've ever noticed an issue!

G-Sync probably makes a difference, as will the 120/144Hz screens but you obviously need a bit more of a budget to start looking at the better options!

I'm very tempted with the BenQ screen - as I said, I've not seen a bad review of it!

Are you very aware of frame tears in games? If so, Gsync is beneficial. But then again, it doesn't really matter as it is highly overbudget. I don't think the difference will be significant considering you'll be able to keep 60fps at 1440p easily with your rig, a case where Gsync isn't as useful.

Dell U2715h came today. Have to say I am happy with it.

Physically, looks good. Display itself is nice, my old 1080p Samsung next to it looks so washed out :(. Tempted to get another, but I think I will save that third monitor spot for a good IPS 144hz when there is more choice on the market. Acer is a no no.

Been playing a few games (Arma, Smite), not noticed any issues.
