I like my case, it looks smart and its lovely and light. However I have a couple of gripes with it.

  • It doesn't have a removable mobo tray,
  • It struggles to fit my 8800GTS 512 as the hard drive bays at the front of the case are in the way,
  • It isn't great for cable management, although my PSU won't help there either,
  • It isn't very roomy inside.

I'm not sure what model it is as I bought it about 7-8 years ago but it "looks" very much like this one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-041-LL&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=187.

I'd love something similar, in black, preferably Aluminium again, that solves the above issues as well as being stylish and reduces noise. Don't want windows or anything crude looking.

Suggestions welcome as I admit, cases are not something I look at regularly.

Yeah they look nice, I saw the add yesterday and was quite impressed.

Does it meet my criteria though? Will need to look into it a bit more.

CM ACTS 840 - should fit the card, it's black and I'm pretty sure it's aluminium
Fractal Design Define Black Pearl - might struggle fitting the card (should manage though), not sure on the materials used and not very roomy
Lancool Dragon - Lord PC-K58 - Same as the Fractal Design
Lian Li PC-B10 - as above, but definitely Aluminium
Lian Li PC-9B - same as the PC-B10
Lian-Li PC-P50B - Fits your description, but not 100% on the removable tray
NZXT Panzerbox Aluminium - as the PC-B10

That hard HDD mounting of old Lian Lis must be acoustically plain painfull and 80mm fans just can't move much air.

What limits you have for budget and case's size?
What amount of components it needs to be able to house?
E-ATX full tower size solves pretty much all problems with working space and cables filling all space.

That Fractal Design seems competent alternative to Antec P18x.

(two 5.25" bays just don't house much devices)

I don't want anything too much bigger than I have now and I don't want to spend much more than £100

Not keen on the first one Link - much prefer the 2nd & 3rd ones. I have to admit, I like the look of the Fractal ones as well !

May have to increase budget slightly.

OK - My 2 favourites so far are as follows.

Lian-Li PC-P50B
NZXT Panzerbox Aluminium

Although I do like the look of the Coolermaster Cosmos Black that Ace Modder was advertising this week.

The Panzer box is the only 1 in budget but I don't think I'd mind stretching for the Lian-Li and as for the Cosmos, it would have to be pretty frickin special for me to shell out 175 notes.

Anyone got any opinions on these, other than my original wants/needs in first post, I want things to be as quiet as possible on air.
