Hey all,

I had started a thread recently asking about upgrading my current system with just a 780ti but have acquired some inheritance money from my departed grandparents so I want to make a really good "gift" from them that will last me a long time.

I guess my only requirements are intel and nvidia please <3

Budget is up to around £2500 but could possibly go up to 3k if you sell it to me that it's worth it.

I haven't followed the scene since I bought my current machine back in mid 2012 so I am very much out of the loop and am asking for your ample combined experience to make sure I don't make a huge mistake with something that is very dear and personal to me.

Thanking any and all of you in advance!

Would you be prepared to build this yourself? Not really no, the one time I have tried to do manual work (changing graphics card) I managed to snap the release mechanism, been scared since.

Do you need a monitor/peripherals/OS? Only an OS, have peripherals I am comfortable with and am going to wait for GSYNC.

Will it just be used for gaming and general use? Gaming for the most part but will be doing occasional video and audio editing on my broadcast journalism course.

Do you have a preferred colour scheme...? No, surprise me, it is also not necessary at all.

Do you have a size preference? Big and leary or compact? No, I will find room whatever, if it can be compact and fairly future proof, great!

Do you want it to be quiet? luxury extra but not necessary, my current graphics card has had a struggling fan since September so anything will seem blissfully quiet.

Would you plan on overclocking and toying with it to push limits? I would want something that could be overclocked to make it last longer but I won't be pushing it to the extreme no. I currently have a 3770k @ 4.4 and a MSI 560 Ti OC.

My current system would be going to my little brother as he has been struggling along with his first PC with its G630 processor and gt620 gpu. He would just replace the GPU and it will be a massive upgrade for him.
