Want to build a new pc but should I get

the 5960x cpu or will there be a better one soon? Feels bad when you buy something and it's out of date a little later.

There wont be anything better for awhile and what there maybe coming (still for the X99 platform as usually intel release two CPUs generations per chipset lately) may only be less than 10% faster.

Think Sandybridge to Ivybridge

Haswell to Devilscanyon.

Etc.

Not much speed improvements between them..

I dont know what you want a 16threaded cpu monster for? but its not going to be slow also so easy to overclock to say 4.5Ghz, once at that speed its a beast.
