Want to burn an m4v to DVD

i have a copy of am m4v video (it isnt passowrd protected and plays in itunes) and was trying to burn it to DVD - the file is 1.16GB in size, i was really hoping to be able to make a DVD copy of this that i could watch on my player at home, can anyone recommend a free program that will allow me to encode the file and burn it to DVD, since i tried WMP but it won't do it for this type of media, and whenever i search for a free m4v converter program i end up with some naff trial program that only converts half the file.
