Want to do a eyefinity setup - advice please

Hey folks,

At some point I want to upgrade my graphics card, probably to a 5870 and run 3 24" monitors in eyefinity.

At the moment I have a 24" and a 22", I'll most likely buy 2 more 24" monitors and sell my 22", then upgrade my gfx card from my nvidia 250gts.

I'm pretty familiar with how to setup eyefinity stuff and I know I'll need an active displayport adapter if I don't get at least 1 displayport ready monitor.
The problem is most of the 24 inch displayport monitors are expensive, very expensive.
Some I'm wondering if I should just cut my losses and buy 2 non displayport ones and get an adapter.
Also, my current 24" is 1900x1200 and almost ALL of the 24" monitors I see (especially the displayport ones) seem to be 1900x1080.
So what I really need is 2, 24" 1900x1200 monitors.

So advice would be great, I'm wondering really if I should hold out for at least one displayport one, and which one? or just drop it on 2 decent 24" samsungs.

Was thinking of this - No competitor links!

My current 24" is a LG W2452TX, which is pretty decent, I'd just get 2 more of these but the stand leaves a lot to be desired, which is why i'm thinking of the samsung.

Or should I do something else, wait for a decent 1900x1200 24" displayport ready monitor to show up that isn't way expensive?

I know it's wrong to do it, but isn't that a bit harsh? I mean a mod could have just edited and said the reason why, no need for a temporary ban. He probably just joined today anyways.

yeah seems a little bit harsh for a new guy who probably hasnt read the FAQ. i didnt read it when i joined up but i quickly gathered competitor links were a no no.

again, mods, a little harsh dontcha think?

I don't want to add any fuel to the fire, OcUK, but I also only joined recently and would not have known not to post links to competitors had I not stumbled across this thread.

How about making the forum rules a sticky or something so that it is the first thing you see after logging-on? Nowhere (at least to my knowledge) does it say you have to read the FAQ to know what and what not to post...
