Ive played loads of mmorpgs and since i dont play any games at the moment i want to get back into one!
Ones i can remember are helbreath(addicted for 2 years), rf online, myth of soma,lineage1/2,/guild wars for ages some others that i have forgotten..

Anyway, which is the main game now, Wow? it seems a little expensive for me, as well as having to buy the game :o ...and people are high levels already etc

Well, its not that expensive really... but thats for me. But I can say its worth it as they do add things over time, and it is a damn good game - very addictive too lol :(.

They also often open up new servers too, so that it starts a fresh with everyone the same level... so if you time it right you could get on one of those :). But generally its not that bad leveling up when there are lots of high levelers, it is tough in a certain area known has Stranglethorn Vale, but if you get to know some friendly lvl 60 players that can come help you you'll do fine.

Massively addictive though :).

Id recommend Dark Age Of Camelot Epic Edition , £21 for the game and every expansion released so far from dvdboxoffice.com

Think you get the first month free.

Still a popular mmorpg and has a good userbase, and still has content being added / expansions being made.

Has the best pvp of all the mmorpgs that have been made so far imo

The game is made by mythic who are making the forthcoming warhammer so will be interesting to see if they incorporate anything from this game.

Don't turn to the darkside of WoW lol, wait for a decent MMORPG like Warhammer or Lord of the Rings.

How do you know that they are going to decent? They look good now but who knows what they will be like when they are delivered. It is not just graphics that make a game and especially in an MMO - so much needs to be balanced.

Get WoW mate - excellent game, great community, and you will find loads of people at low level to group with.

Get WoW if you want basically a kids game with the most basic PvP system I've ever seen...

It leads you by the hand everywhere you go and you have to group (I hate this personally). Also I have known people who have done the same instances thirty or fourty times and still haven't got the items they went in there for.

Every class is virtually the same as well - just different looks. Still the same click on enemy press 1, 2, 3 (or whatever hotkeys you have) click on the next enemy and repeat.

Sadly I think this is how most new MMORPGs are going to become - very basic at least with games like Asherons Call you had to figure out the quests and they were soloable (at high level) and had a decent PvP system with different tactics for different classes and so and so forth.

I've recently retried DAoC after a few years away and have to say that it really is bad - from the initial start the entire thing made me cringe. Same with Anarchy Online.

I think the best would be to wait and find something you really like the sound of and then look into forums and so on and so forth as it really is down to personal taste.

Archlord looks like it is going to try a new thing with the ruling for 15 days feature. Might not suit the casual player though as that feature sounds like a real time sink. Hope they enable good content for this type of player.
