Want to record off the internet... how?

Hey,

Looking to record some TV shows like TopGear in Arabic off this site: http://www.livestation.com/en/bbc-arabic

Any ideas how to do it? Is being used for educational purposes, just need some clips.

Desktop Recorder & select window you require ?

It's in the Repo's

It does this kind of mullarky (I didn't bother selecting window only though)

hypercam 2 then render in WMM = 1440p

I think that you maybe able to do this sort of thing with the menconder program that is related to the mplayer package, but it has been several years since I last used/looked at it.

A search for Desktop Recorder doesn't show anything in the Ubuntu 12.04 repositories

That's strange. I'm on 11:10 but Desktop Recorder has been in just about every recent-ish version. I can't see why they'd remove it ?
