I'm a total noob when it comes to this sort of stuff as you will probably be able to tell:D

I recently purchased a 1.6 5door 2003 Golf and what to put in some decent speakers. I've been on caraudiosecurity.com and I've been looking at getting these bits;

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/6351.html

Can someone just check that all this is compatible with everything and also if there's anything I've missed out?

Cheers.

EDIT* plan is to have just two speakers in the front door panels and the sub in the boot.

To be fair, i'm pretty impressed with the performance of the stereo in my Golf with just an uprated headunit (it's an old Blaupunkt unit). I've never really felt the speakers themselves were especially lacking. Might be worth seeing how you get on with just a source/amplification upgrade before throwing money at speakers/sub too?

If you're getting door speakers though it's 6.5" components you want, not 6x8s, unless you're intending doing some extensive modifications.

I'd say it's worth a try - i'm certainly not convinced £40 Kenwood speakers are going to be a huge improvement at any rate.

I'd personally much rather have a Pioneer or Alpine headunit over a Kenwood too.

Definitely upgrade the head-unit first. No point wasting money on speakers if this will fix the issue.

Pioneer or Alpine are what I would suggest as well - You dont need to spend silly money either unless you really need all the features of the higher end units.

Go on a forum like TalkAudio and they will probably be able to give you some better advice.

A mate with a Mk4 Golf found the same as Kenai, just a new head unit really does give a nice lift to the stock speakers, so it's not just a one off situation :)

Stock speakers in the MK4 golf's aren't bad at all. You wont really notice a difference buying £50 speakers. Upgrade your headunit and you'll be pleasantly surprised! :)
