Ive had my 360 for a few weeks now, played crackdown loads, played forza 2 a lot, plus fifa 08, the only game i have played hardly any of is dead rising, i tried playing it, but i couldnt really do much as my health was so low all the time, boss's were impossible to beat i couldnt really do anything, ive heard people say you should just level up the first few times playing through ,do you keep your level when you want to play through again? Will that make it easier against boss's?

thanks.

edit: Even though i was going round taking crap loads of pictures, it took ages to level up (I was on lvl 0 last time i remember playing lol).

If you die you can choose to keep your level and start again, rinse and repeat.
It sounds bad, but when you consider just HOW much there is to do in the game it works out as a genius concept.

It's a throwback to older, difficult games, games where you couldn't save anywhere you wanted and it's for that reason that I LOVE it.

My tip would be just to have some fun for the first few times until your level is 20+ which should make the game easier when you learn some new moves and tricks.

Just be creative ;)
Taking photos would take a long time to level up. Easiest way to level up (warning it's not much fun!) would be to get the car and drive it round the carpark over and over.

I've been meaning to get back into playing Dead Rising again (never made it all the way through) but I just keep getting sidetracked playing other games.

Great game, I played as far through the game as i could(skipping many of the bosses), then when it got impossible i started the game and because i got to keep the level i had already earned the first time through, it was a lot easier and more fun the second time through. I also discovered all kinds of things i missed the first time.

its a great game - im playing it for the 2nd time now on level 36 atm - almost at 37.

The worst boss i found is those flippin convicts.

and Otis - ill bloody strangle that annoying little git.

ok i started again, just killing people, went down into the underground bit and ended up killing over 2000 zombies so im nearly at level 3 now :p

Thats the best way to get loads of zombie kills and help up your level. Remember the car/van will conk out eventually - just make sure if dosent happen when your stuck in the tunnels or you will be screwed. lol

My tip would be sell it - most boring game ever!

Id say this guy dont know what hes talking about, but with a gamerscore of like 60000 , id say hes played his fair share of games! :p

But its a matter of opinion tbh.

I think its a great game, i just had the one playthrough and did more or less nothing, and i was lvl 20 (i think) by the end of it. Didnt do a lot of bosses though...

Just play it through a few times and when you get to be a higher level, youll enjoy it more :)

lol Otis, I hate him so... Run into a crowded zombie area *ring ring* Ugh...

I recently got into Dead Rising, once your up to around level 20 and getting the hang of where to go and what to do, it really is awesome!
It is a bit rubbish at extreme low levels as you've got no health and can hardly hold any items. Once you've got space to keep some OJ on you and have books to lengthen times of weapons etc, you start to feel the hard man. :D

Try and save a few survivors for some good exp, make sure to reunite the 2 old people on the roof and take a picture for an easy 10k... Doing some of the side missions is a good way of levelling whilst also learning the layout, always good.

Edit: Thread a while back here, it's full of spoilers but has some decent tips.

The reason i didnt like it i think is because there is only so much fun you can have killing lifeless enemies, the AI is a peace of **** to program, they just moan and follow you - and yea you can do some fun kills. But the story line is rubbish, the atmosphere is non existant, it just has an hour of fun to it and then... well its just boring - i enjoyed the save mechanism though thought that was good if not frustrating

The save system really did my headin, its probably the worst part of the game for me. But mind you, without it it would probably be too easy.

Dead Rising is easily amongst the best games the 360 has. Because it's an exclusive it looks utterly stunning since it was designed from the ground up for the 360.

The save system is there for a reason - to stop the powergamers from doing everything in a single session. It's clever and it works, although it doesn't look it at first.

Firstly forget the bosses. Focus on taking photos of key survivors as well as saving them. Try and get the most PP you can, and learn where you can find the best weapons. The more you level up, the greater inventory slots you're awarded. Keep playing through the game as much as you can learning the layout of all the sub malls. Once you're up to about Lv13-15 things become much easier.

Don't forget once you reach a certain level, you can save & restart the game and you'll be starting off with the previous level you left at, so things are much easier.

I started off trying to do everything and realised that it's just not possible. You've got the freedom to choose what er missions you want to persue. I was at around lv12 before I messed up on a key mission and the storyline ended right there, but I was able to wait it out until the helicopter came to pick me up. Obviously I never saw the true ending that way.

If you fail a key mission, the game carries on until the full 72hrs is over. You just don't get the true ending.

On my second try I nailed it. I killed the clown and got the most powerful toys in the game and nothing stood in my way. I then used a small exploit when the SAS arrive to get me from Lv33 to 50. Then I progressed onwards to the true ending.

Heheheh, I got the full megaman suit on my char. It was awesome :D

I also got a black suit, smart shoes, some shades and a skinhead haircut. I looked just like the guy from Hitman :D
