want to upgrade from e71 to blackberry...

...is the 9700 bold still the one to go for?

I have no probs with the e71 and it has served me very well but two of the buttons have just fallen off and i'm due an upgrade.

At the moment yes although if you wait a few months theres the new 9780 which is basically the same but with 512mb of RAM compared to 256mb that the 9700 has...the 9780 will also have a 5mp camera compared to the 3.2mp thats on the 9700.

The 9780 will also have the new fangled OS6 running from the box...the 9700 runs on OS5, which isnt as snazzy as the OS6 but is due a version of the OS6 soon...dont know when as ive been waiting for it myself.

You might want to have a look at the 9800 torch which is a slider phone but with a touchscreen...

But if you cant wait then nothing at the moment comes close to the 9700.
