I ordered a prebuilt machine on here a while ago.

System Specification
- Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W
- CPU: Intel Core i5 760 2.93GHz overclocked to 4.00GHz
- Motherboard: Gigabyte P55-USB3 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
- Cooler: Xigmatek Dark Knight CPU Cooler
- RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
- Graphics Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 OC 1024MB GDDR5

I am looking to upgrade the graphics card as I bought BF4 and want to play on ULTRA setting.

Can you advice on what is the best and cheapest options to do this?

Thanks

my i5 760 at 4ghz with a 7990 is playing bf4 maxed out at 1080p with no problems at all, always at 60fps and smooth as butter

maybe a 2x4gb 1600mhz ram as well, as posted above whats your budget?

do you want AMD or nvidia or are you not fussed?

If budget isn't a problem then get this.

^ Please justify half of those choices. I don't understand why you have a 1250W PSU, 16GB of RAM with an i7. - Second choices seems to be alright however.

Can you advice on what is the best and cheapest options to do this?

An i5 with a 280x is a good set-up!

I would like to clarify I was only messing with the first bit of post number 10! Just having some fun as I'm in a good mood today. So please no hate.

On a serious note it would be nice to have some sort of budget OP. But if the i5 and GPU is in budget then I would go with it, it will last you a while and I'm sure you'll get good FPS on ultra settings.

What if I had bought everything in your first part. :P

I am actually tempted on the SSD I already put one in my computer and need an upgrade.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone.

so OP, do you want a new rig (same case hdd etc)

or just a GPU to play bf4?
with your current spec, i would get a 7990 and a 8gb 1600mhz ram kit imo, mainly because thats what i am running and its plowing through everything (must admit tho, my CPU is starting to show its age in CPU intensive games)

so have you got a price we can work with? say £1000 for a rig upgrade or £500 for GPU?

EDIT: this is what i would do if i were you, BUT if you play a lot of old games that rely on single core performance then go intel, but if newer games are your main priority they this is a good build :)

you can save and get 1600mhz ram or get a cheaper mobo and get a SSD in there

OR intel spec

get a radeon 280x, gtx770 or better, get another 4gb ram, and youll likely be able to play on ultra at 30-40 fps (or more with higher card) which is playable. bf4 may scale well with better cpus but you dont need one to max it out if your gfx card is good enough (according to bf4 cpu scale chart you can get 50 fps minumum with a 7990 on that cpu and thats at stock not 4 ghz)

Don't think you'll get that cooler (free with mobo) over that RAM. You'll probably need low profile.
