The one i use just now i bought and build myself and it has done pretty well, handles all games i have played no problem and was only 500 with no monitor..but the since i bought it the psu went bust, and had several overheating problems and now to add to it my gfx card seems ******(overheats when game is on and shuts down the pc)

So wondering if anyone could spec me a new system for 500-600 with no monitor(going to go for a 40" lcd tv with the pc hooked up..well if it is recommended?)

My current specs, not great but did the job but i feel now 500-600 would get me a much better system with less problems haha

You could try this as a basis for an overclocking system

Im sure there i could use the dvd writer from the pc im using atm, is any the other parts worth using instead of buying new ones, like the Harddrive for example..or should i get a faster one? vista worth while or should i stick to xp just now?

edit: just saw your post after i posted wipe, i thought that would be a better idea yea, and i can use my dvd writer too...really nice specs

how does the cpu compare to my old one, i assume it blows it away?

even more so since the one i have cant be overclocked at all, how does the rest compar to my old ones? (full of questions i know :D)

From what i've heard the wolfdales are very nice CPU's indeed and should certainly be a lot faster than your old P4. Should be able to get a nice overclock on it too with that cooler. The 8800gt is a nice card although im not so sure about connecting cards to TV's not my kind of thing; rather have a monitor myself.

alright cool, thanks mate

i thought it was just a case of buying a cable to connect ti to my tv, ill need to look into it

thanks mate, i checked up on it...the 8800gt has tv output for up to 1080i res and i think thats all i need to make sure of

cant wait to get this heap of junk out of my way and get the new build :D

right cool mate, probably order the parts this weekend...not looking forward to building it tho..always **** scared incase i do it wrong..or damage a part or both lol
