Wanting to buy a custom loop

So I've recently bought a 7700k clocked to 5Ghz cooled using a Corsair H100 RGB AIO but
the temps hit the low 70's while gaming in cool weather and I have to down clock to 4.8Ghz at the moment while it this hot.
How much better would a custom loop perform and is it even worth it?

Which bits of kit would you all recommend? should I be buying a bundled kit or individual parts?
I'm confused by the tubing and fitting sizes as well.

As a guide for you my custom loop consisting of 240mm & 280mm rad runs my 7700k @5ghz (1.32v) temps around 60-62c when gaming
That was this week so ambient temps have been quite high (25c in room)
Cpu has been delidded & liquid metal applied so I don't think your temps are too bad.

Mine runs about the same if not slightly hotter as I'm running at 1.39v to get a stable 5ghz on my also delidded 7700k with a 240mm and 260mm rad (GPU in that loop as well). I'd be happy with low 70s on an AIO and as long as your not throttling it will be fine.

If you wanted an easier upgrade one of the new 360mm fractal AIO coolers might be an option, although I don't know how they stack up against the H100 in the realworld. Just viewing bigger rad might help.

@Reality Bites what voltage are you running?

I'm using 1.31v for 4.8Ghz (still to try lower) and 1.365v for 5Ghz.
