Hi guys,

Wondering what you think i could/should do in my current circumstances...

Basically, with my job, i've had to start working in an area where i get literally no signal, and also i have to shoot off to another area where i also get literally no signal. This is for the majority of my working week.
So because of this, i'm really wanting to get out of my current Orange contract and switch to O2 who i know do provide coverage for the areas.

Problem is, im currently only 12 months into a 24 month contract. :(

Now, the current circumstances are unacceptable for me for obvious reasons.

Would i have to pay the remainder of my contract, or because im cancelling due to problems on their side in not providing coverage, i might be able to get a reduced rate to pay?
I was looking at switching to O2 and getting an iPhone4, but £35 a month for 300 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb internet seems a bit expensive?

Any advice?

I think you'll struggle to get it cancelled without having to buy out of it. AFAIK they don't guarantee coverage in their terms and conditions. What happens if you stick the offending postcodes into their website coverage map?

Unfortunately its extremely unlikely you will get anything out of them.

They don't guarantee coverage and you are the person who has moved, not them :(

They're both classed as 'Very Good'.

And i understand that i would still have to pay, it's just, it'd be nice if they met half way in the sense that, yes, it's partly me, but it's also partly them too. So some kind've discount would be appreciated really :(

You won't have to pay VAT when you buy out your contract and they have a set discount which depends on the average profit they make on your tariff.

The discounts are usually small, and they are smaller the cheaper your tariff is.

Does T-Mobile cover the area. If so they will perhaps soon be sharing masts and you may get a signal. this may be better than nothing?

you should be able to knock the contract down to a lower tier since you are so far into it. usually a fiver off in most cases. then you can ask to buy out. you wont have to pay the vat and you 'might' get a bonus for early payment.
