Wanting to rename my user folder

For whatever reason, while doing a supposed clean install option upgrade of Windows 10 from Win 8.1, my user folder was renamed from Julian to Julia

It annoyed me enough to download the iso, install from a proper clean, in way of format... Thinking it would fix. BUT !!!!!!!!!!! my Microsoft account has somehow synced itself to this new Julia name and the clean reformatted install also has my user directory as Julia...

So my onedrive, and all my user folders have the wrong goddam path. I'm pretty sure, if I just rename it, nothing will work, as we have all the appdata stuff to contend with. But I'd do it, if it allowed me to get my proper name back.

Just not exactly sure how, if its somehow synced to my Microsoft account.

Any suggestions or ideas ?

Change it in Onedrive. Sign out of your Microsoft account on the PC and then sign in again (toss in a reboot for good measure).

Or

Change your name to Julia. Problem solved

onedrive resides in c:\users\julia

Not letting me do anything to rename it... even logged out and in as a local user, and taking full control. Keep getting access denied.

ugh. gotta be a way. I'm not getting a sex change over this. :p

I vote Gloria.

On another note, my user folder is called 'Russe'. God know why.
I'm not really bothered as it is on another drive anyway. :)

Has to be a bug that they'll fix... Seems to be missing the last character of the username as it upgrades... But once the MS cloud sync gets hold of it, it seems that its not as easy to resolve.

I'm going to try and to another reboot, but this time create a local account first, then merge it to my Microsoft account.. About to kick this off now, so i'll let you all know how it goes in an hr or so, once i'm done. ;)

Yes, fixed now, complete wipe and reformat, re-installed went in and setup a local account, using my name, then signed in to my microsoft account, and my user folder is now correctly named.
