Just seen the video of the Diablo reveal or whatever it's called. Horrific. Does now look like they are just shovelling tat out to make money.
As much as WC3: Reforged excites me, it's doesn't really seem to offer anything extra that would tempt me to actually buy it over just installing the original + expansion.

I don't get the hate with Diablo Immortal. Sure if they were ditching the pc development of diablo 4 in favour of this sure....but as far as I am aware diablo 4 is in active development.

I think the problem is that there has been no word on Diablo 4, no actual confirmation that they are even doing a Diablo 4. No time during the Blizzcon, whilst suffering the enormous public PR backlash that they thought, hey, we can damage limit this by letting people know we are doing a Diablo 4. Instead...just silence on the Diablo 4 front. Personally, I dont think they are doing a Diablo 4, I think if they were, they would have said so to save face during this Blizzcon. As the saying goes, silence speaks a thousand words.

They haven't confirmed outright they are doing a Diablo 4 but they have said multiple times that they have multiple projects in the works and will talk about them closer to the time. I expect Immortal was only shown to give people SOMETHING and it was easy to show due to it essentially being reskinned work.
Makes no sense, they had a backlash of absolutely seismic proportions, they could have lessened that backlash once they saw how bad it was by simply dropping one sentence to say that Diablo 4 was one of the projects being worked on. One sentence would have greatly reduced the nonstop social media backlash they have suffered since the first day of Blizzcon. Yet, no sentence came. Nothing. You would literally have to have single digit IQ to be working for them and not think upon realising the way things were going after the announcement, lets just mention that we are working on D4. But..nope.
I think the reason that sentence wasnt said is a simple one. Its because they arent. There is literally no other reason why they wouldnt limit the horrendous slamming they are getting by saying they were working on it.
If they couldnt figure that out, then their entire PR and Marketing departments need firing because they are clearly incompetent at their jobs.
Possible they are considering what the next Diablo will shape up to be? Given the success of more connected arpgs like POE is it possible they are considering a more MMO like game and don't want to label is at the next Diablo...who knows, they clearly have their reasons but given it would be easy to do something similar to the ES6 Bethesda 10 second vid it wouldn't be hard to do if D4 was in the works so question why they didn't if that is the case.
Indeed, just think how much less flak they would be getting right now, if just one single employee on that stage had simply said "You'll be glad to know that we are returning once more to Tristram in Diablo 4, early days yet but keep your eyes on the website in the future and stay a while and listen".
Simple thing to do, only takes a moment and would have VASTLY reduced the stick they are taking. I mean seriously, if I can see that and their marketing/PR people cant, then maybe they need to sack them all and pay me a salary

"Two people familiar with the plans" is just as meaningless as the multitude of youtubers all year who have been saying that D4 would be announced at Blizzcon. 3rd party gossip is simply 3rd party gossip and proof of nothing.
What would have been proof, would be Blizzard themselves saying it. Just, as someone mentioned, was done with ES6.

They have clearly said that something is in the works, They have been hiring for a while now so its obvious something big is coming. Get over yourself and move on with your life until something is announced. Getting pissy and stamping your feet doesn't help anyone.

I'm aware they have something in the works, but can you link me the proof from the horses mouth that its a PC Diablo? I'm aware they have been hiring, but can you link me proof from the horses mouth that its for staff for a PC Diablo? If you can do either of those then I will VERY happily eat humble pie, if not then I suggest you grow up and learn to converse as an adult rather than just lashing out at someone who has a different train of thought to you with insults.

For one no insults were thrown... simply a statement that regardless of what was said people will and ARE complaining..... as for proof...There isn't anything concrete BUT....
A list of all open Diablo jobs...none of them say mobile and they have their own mobile category as well. The requirements for the designers leads more to a PC release than a mobile\console release....

It is out on PS4 and Switch, They have a mobile game coming out so what else could they be doing? Either a brand new Diablo game in a new style I.E RTS\MMO etc OR Diablo 4. They won't announce it until they have something worth showing, They never do...... When its ready.
There is plenty of information out there and if you start to actually piece it together rather than complaining then its clearly obvious that a new game is in the works. HOWEVER....How does it not being announced actually affect you?
I would also suggest we stop derailing the WC3...

You told me to Get over myself, as if to suggest my complaint about the mobile announcement or indeed the contemptuous way they spoke to their userbase with their "do you not have phones" line was me being arrogant in some way, when any self respecting non Blizzard fanboy would be outraged at that level of disrespect and dismissal from a spokesman of the company.

None of those sentences are conducive to an adult discussion, all of them are personal attacks rather than debate.
I see the info you've provided and as you rightly say, none of it is concrete. I fail to see how anyone can possibly not agree that Blizzard could have avoided a huge amount of the flak if they had simply said we are working on Diablo 4, and I cannot see any sensible reason that they wouldnt do that damage limitation unless the simple case is that they arent and nothing in your links proves that they are.
However, whilst I do agree with you about the thread derailing, its abundantly clear that you and I simply dont get along and dont agree so its best that we simply dont communicate to each other again and the thread can continue with its original content.

Well I pre-ordered the spoils of war edition.
I game at 21:9 and I am pretty sure that it won't support it but I still plugged over 200 hours into starcraft remastered with the 16:9 lock.
There is a 21:9 mod for the original....but still I am a sucker for Warcraft.
I do wish that blizzard would go a little bit further into their back catalogue and look at WC2.
