Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War on Steam.

Really happy DoW has been updated, picked this up at a discounted price as I own the Anniversary Edition. With the updates the game still holds up well enough and the RTS side is still a lot of fun, shame that DoW3 tried to change the formula a little much and killed the franchise, maybe we'll get a new W40K RTS down the line.

Loved Dark Crusade. Spent many an hour on the campaign. The last few missions were so much fun.

Retribution was also brilliant. The last stand game mode was so addictive. Wish they added more maps.

This looks really disappointing to be honest, I loved the original, got it on release, plus all the expansions, but this seems to be basically a slight texture upgrade plus compatibility patch.

Nothing wrong with that, but not when you're charging £25 for it! (Or even £14 for owners of the originals as it is right now with the launch discount).

Plenty of games have had bigger "remasters" released for free, so it just seems a bit of a cash grab.

Now a full remake with a new engine and modern graphics, but the same gameplay, and released for full price on the other hand?

I never played the expansions so well worth the money for me. I like I can just zoom the camera out more without everything going weird.

Anybody got this yet? It doesn't seem that great like Haggisman says.

Id like to know what the campaign from dark crusade is like. Is the A.I the same?

As others, loved the game and expansions back in the day. The campaigns where it mattered what and where you built things as you might fight again on the same map, I'm not sure if anything else has done this since.

I'm very tempted to get it but also have good memories of playing it. Not sure I want to go back for a 'bit' of a better experience when I could play something else. The controls and interface are all the same from what I understand so even if the ai was vastly improved, I'm not sure it would change much of the experience.

There are different keybinds for 'classic, grid, modern'. Annoyingly though I cant use WASD for camera controls as that is something I'm used to.

Never played the first however, enjoying the second though. Might nab this soon as heard all the praise.

It's nice that they have made this easily playable on modern systems. Had a hell of a lot of fun with this back in the day.

Looks like the testers have very good eyesight as at higher resolutions the fonts in the gui are really small for me. I’ll have to drop the res to see if it helps. Getting old is rubbish.
