***Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine***

Did I just see some Chaos in there?
Love 40k, and would really like to love this game too, just got a suspicion that it might be a let down. Looks too consoley.
 
Definitely saw some chaos marines in there, and a few imperial guard towards the end too. One thing I noticed is that the few times you saw actual in-game movement it certainly looked like a controller rather than k&m. I remember reading a couple of years ago that it was due to be console only, then a year later hearing that it was definitely coming to PC - really hoping they'll make a decent effort porting it across and not leave us with half-baked hash. All in all, naïvely optimistic - probably a day 1 purchase from me, though a demo would be nice :)
 
Thats look good, pity its the Ultramarines and not a decent chapter :(

Now if they put in multi player squad mode that would be bloody amazing! Not sure if I will bother if its just single player though.
 
God of War style beat 'em up by all accounts, if I saw it cheap I'd probably get it just for the 40k vibe, but don't think I'll be queuing up for it :p
 
I'm a huge fan of the WH 40k atmosphere, but like Mango said it looks too consoley.

I can see it being fun for the first 10 hours, before it feels completley burned out - it just looks like a mindless hack n slash solo game, would be nice if there was some kind of multiplayer element to it but I can't see that :/

While I was really hyped the first time I saw this trailer, i've lost faith in new releases. They always create the perfect looking game in a brief trailer whereas it's more often than not a huge letdown when it comes to playing it. (but of course, that's what advertising is all about)
 
Going to pre-order this as soon as I get £30 on my reward card at work! :D

Looks bloody awesome! Obviously going to be using the 'hit orc in face with shield' combo over and over again!!

Your getting confused as this is not the MMo game, are you thinking of Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online? Space Marine is a hack and slash action game and I must say looks rather tasty !

This, Ultramarines are as bland as wallpaper paste. Give me a good son of russ or a death company warrier for this type of game :D

Also doesn't seem very accurate having a space marine cutting through hordes of orks and chaos, should have made your character a primarch, that would have made sense.
 
Give me Dark Angels or Salamanders any day.

R.E. Multiplayer: Wikipedia indicates an early interview included mention of both co-op and versus modes, though it's unreferenced.

I know, every single aspect of the game fits the 40K universe, recruiting a retinue, improving equipment, visiting different worlds, fulfilling tasks/missions, choices between being a puritan or perhaps a more heretical stance, psychic abilities/powers, just a chance to explore the amazing and varied landscapes of the 40K universe you get glimpses of in the books. I so want this game :(
