Exciting! :D If ever there was a setting that was ripe for transition in MMORPG, its Warhammer 40k. Interesting that they say all the important races will be there, as well as a high level of customization. Can't wait.

Still, early days yet, as well all know there's plenty of time for the game to change for the worst, be delayed indefinitely, or even worse, get canned...

Said this about 6 years ago during my teen warhammer period. Still if they can make something good out of it, better late than never.

And i concur the warhammer 40K characters have the potential to be the coolest looking.

Finally PC Gamer provides some unsurprising but none the less enticing detail on the world players will find themselves in: "cities, alien temples, Chaos shrines, deserted battlefields (er, woo?), mysterious ruins, ancient structures, and - here's the cool one - 'drifting hulks in space'."

Sounds awesome :D

I hope they make it really dark and gothic like the spirit of the original game, and not slightly cartoony like the dawn of war games. A WOW-style look wouldn't work too well with WH40k IMO.

Original Warhammer never interested me, however Warhammer 40k used to be great and the characters looked cool for all factions. The only thing which is a shadow in my mind is i enjoy playing as Wizards in MMO games (never really got into Tabula Rasa) so i hope this is something special.

I expect that would be chucked into the mix, what with psykers, chaos sorcerors, stuff like that...wouldn't be too hard to work out I would think.

Fixed ;)

There's a lot of sorcery in WH40K, as someone said very gothic(y) with daemons and such. Psykers, Sorcerers, Librarians, Warlocks, Farseers, Ethereals so plenty of magic-wielding about in the lore :)

A WH40k MMO has been in development for quite a few months.

Personaly i think a WH40k MMO would be best if it was done like planetside, except without the problems.

Never really looked into anything Warhammer, the announcement cinematic for WAR got me into it, but after seeing how badly it will fail, I've lost interest.

Battle March looks good, hope it comes out for PC as well.

Dawn of War didn't grip me either, unit were cool, guess it'll be fun on a more personal level.

I was a bit gutted when they announced the Warhammer MMORPG (i.e not the 40K incarnation). Plus when the developers of Star Trek Online pulled out (but now someone else is picking up the pieces, but who knows how long that will take).

Now Im really happy! :D

Quote from the GW website regarding Librarians :)

Librarians are responsible for all interstellar communication with the power to project their minds through warp space. They are also the adjudicators of the Chapter's psychic population, dividing psychic mutants into those whose powers are dangerous and those whose powers may be used by the Imperium. Only the most powerful of those suitable psykers can become a Space Marine Librarian.

In battle, Space Marine Librarians protect the Chapter from the psychic abominations of the enemy by keeping vigil against daemonic attack. They direct their own unearthly powers against the enemy and unleash bolts of warp energy to rend and incinerate their foes. Sometimes, they conjure horrors that freeze the mind and goad even the sturdiest warriors into flight.

So far from throwing books lol
