Warhammer 40K multiplayer question please...

With the original Warhammer 40,000 game, can a group of 4-5 of us play vs each other (eg: 2 vs 2), or against AI (eg: 5 vs AI)?

I remember playing with a couple of mates against 3 AI in the original, not sure if they changed anything with patches/expansions though.

Pretty sure the first Dawn of War is up to 8 player, so yes, 5v3 AI would be possible.

Cheers! And that would make sense when playing? ie: 5 humans vs 3 AI could be a fair/good game?!

Yes you can, I still play it from time to time with friends. As above 8 is the maximum amount of players. You can have any number up to 7 on any one team. You could probably have 8, but then there would be no opponent.

Just set it to a higher difficulty, or 5v3 would be too easy on lower settings.

So 5 human numpties vs 3 AI's on 'advanced' could be an even fight then... Ta!

The original warhammer 40k game? Space Crusade (1992) had up to 3 player multiplayer, I balieve.

The only thing that was annoying vs mass AI in wh40k was facing multiple force commander, boss, eldar farseer at once... u just couldnt kill 4 at once as they tore your arse to shreds in the early game.
