I pre-ordered this from a certain online store and they have cocked it up yet AGAIN. It specifically says that codes will be sent out before the beta and before the 1st July.

I have just phoned up and the woman said:

"The beta hasn't started yet so we can't send them"

Then it changed to (after I told her that the point was to have the key before beta):

"Oh they haven't produced them yet so we don't have them"

Anyone else having the same issue?
 
I cancelled mine from there and I can't be bothered to get one from the local retail store that sells them either. Basically no one seems to be talking to each other as the WAR site said the codes had been sent and the online store said they hadn't. A dev posting on warhammeralliance said they didn't deal directly with the retailers. Sounds like a complete ***k-up tbh.

I was excited about the beta but it looks like it won;t be happening any time soon so i'll wait for the actual game to arrive, some time next year I expect.
 
Are you talking about the store which has the dog + grammar phone as its symbol?

If you are and if you ordered online then you will NOT get your headstart/open beta keys. That deal was for pre-orders placed IN STORE ONLY. I was in a similar situation and when i found out the above i just cancelled my order.
 
i ordered from the jersey place beards ago and received an email on the 18th june ;-

It has come to our attention that some websites are reporting that ####.com have sent out the beta access codes. Unfortunately this is incorrect, however we are due to send out our beta access codes soon and we estimate that they should be with you within 7-10 days. The Warhammer Online beta has yet to start and we will be sending the codes shortly so that they will be there in time for access to the beta when it opens

7-10days they said before the beta opens... but im not holding my breath
 
I have ordered online with Jersey. That says 7-10 days regardless of when the beta is open.

The website also says keys will be sent before 1st july.

The beta will be happening quite soon , and the game will be here long before next year.

To answer the OP though, I too had my preorders originally with them, but got fed up with all the messing around and cancelled and went and got them from the high street place with the dog instead.

I'm not fussed about the beta access, as I have been in the beta for the last 6 months anyway, its really just the early access I'm after.
 
Is there anywhere that this can still be purchased from ?

I don't want specific vendor names, just if you've seen it available anywhere will be fine.

That's not true, I've spoken to GOA on several occassions and they have said that the store in question is a legitimate pre-order partner and if you pre-order the CE you'll get your headstart and open beta access.

In regards to the store in question - they sent out an email to everyone that had the game on pre-order about 2.5 weeks ago saying that everyone should have their pre-order packs not long after the 1st July, spoke to them closer towards the date and apparantly all the packs are getting sent out today so you should have them withing 3-5 days (their standard delivery time).

Well then they must have changed their policy, because the pre-order pack is ONLY availble when pre-ordering in store, or was about 4 weeks ago.

As the guy above says, I would double check that if I was you. That store is a retail ONLY partner, not an E-merchant partner. Requiel has stated several times on both the beta forums and the WA forums that you only get the headstart and open beta access from retail partners if you buy in shop, not online, as that would be a breach of the contract with Mythic/GoA. (and vice versa for E-merchant only partners)

It is indeed a legitimate preorder partner, but for retail orders only not online.


EDIT : here we go, here is a direct quote from Req, concerning preorders with the dog and gramaphone place, this was made on the 19th of June, less than 2 weeks ago.

"It works like this. The pre-order partner is <dog and gramarphone> retail (<dog and gramaphone>.com and <dog and gramaphone> retail are actually separate companies). This means that only <dog and gramaphone> retail will be able to offer the pre-order pack and all the bonuses."

Hehe...that quote is kinda ruined by not being able to say the companies name :D

Most of the online places have sold out, but some of the retail partners still have some copies left, as of last week the dog and gramaphone place in Portsmouth had a copy for instance. Could try your local branch of that, or alternatively hope that you can find a guild who still has some slots left for guild beta (though I imagine very few guilds would give one out to a new member, but you never know)

Is HMV even a competitor? I guess a don can let us know if it is, otherwise i cba to keep typing out stuff about dogs and antiquated audio devices.

My advice to you is to find out what HMV stores are in your area and then call all of them and ask if they have any pre-orders left. its your best bet but i wouldnt hold out much hope frankly, they sold out pretty fast where i was.
 
lol no wonder I'm getting confused, I'm confusing the jersey place with the place you are on about as the topic started with the jersery place, sorry :( jersery place is a pre-order partner online, dog and bone is only a pre-order partner in retail stores and not online.

Still haven't got my key from the jersey guys but i'm already in the beta anyway. It's worth noting that a beta phase has just ended and it could be a few weeks before the next phase starts, whether this will affect when the keys are sent out i do not know.

EDIT: :( discontinued since the 12th of may is what the Bath and both Bristol stores are saying. Oh well was worth a try :p

I imagine the keys wont be sent for several weeks yet, the next phase is guild beta, so keys still wont be needed for that.
 
It's pretty simple guys.

Pre-Order beta has not started and probably is not going to start until at least mid-august (my guess). The war-europe site does not even allow you to plug in the codes yet anyway.

Regarding <dog place> I got this email from their online store.

"I can confirm that the pre-order gifts for Warhammer Online: Age Of Reckoning Collectors Edition are only available if you purchase the product in store."
 
I originally placed my WAR Collector's Edition pre-order with the funny place but since they messed up the GTA IV launch so bad I decided to cancel and get the pre-order box from my local dog and grammar phone store on the high street. Saves a lot of hassle to be honest, but this was about 3 or 4 weeks ago now, maybe more, when I bought my pre-order box for the CE instore. I would have thought that by now they won't have many left of the pre-order box, if any.
 
Received my Pre-Order Pack today from "that" place. Although lucky and unknowing to me they sent it out to me on the 1st, and due to lack of funds I decided to cancel my pre-order on the 2nd, and still got my Pre-Order Pack... phoned them up and they just said to keep it :D
