well I know that no one here will be surprised - but got an e-mail from the website today with Marc Jacobs stating that the game will be released in Autumn 2008

Age of Conan it is then.:)

Please feel free to flame me or delete thread if someone else has posted this.

well it saying its release as Q2 2008 well into Q2 of 2008 was a bit of a give away that a delay was imminent.

I also will be getting AoC but only to fill the gap until WAR comes out

I can handle the delay .. i just it will be worth it when it finally gets released.

it seems to me though the timing will put it in very close proximity to wotlk release date (if it is to be believed) which is something i would have thought mythic would have preferred to avoid.

well i suppose we will see in autumn, unless it slips even more.

I read about this earlier, and am not suprised. It wouldn't suprise me if it's not released until winter '08, Q1 '09 tbh. Still lots of testing too do, including the guild systems. My guild was given 30 places for the guild beta around 9 months ago... we're still waiting for those elusive invites :\
I'm not too fussed about the delay, will try out AoC now, and hopefully this means WAR will be a lot more polished when it is released.

Ditto - it will be AoC that will be protecting me from the sun's harmful rays this summer! :D

All I can say is thank god it's been delayed. I'd rather have it released with my gripes addressed than the game being a quickly polished turd.

Not sure how its WoW 2.0 other than in looks , but nevertheless the delay doesnt bother me muchly, thankfully I'm in beta anyway.

Now though I really think that AoC should take the opportunity to delay as well, they could use the extra time rather than releasing it in May as it is at the moment.

It is a shame, but as others have said,

Will give me time to get to grips with Aoc, i will get them both and stay with which ever is better, if their both turds i will just carry on with wow lol

It's being done by Mythic meaning it'll be great to start with and within two years they'll screw it up royally. You also have the added bonus in the EU of being able to add GOA to your fav list as they'll be managing servers over here - hopefully better than they have with Dark Age of Camelot.

I won't touch the game, it'll be a joyous timesink that will be messed up by the developers.

unless my maths are off.. we're still in Q1 of 2008 arent we?
12/4 = 3.. March = 3rd month Q1? ^^;

Depends if it is done financial quarters like the UK where we are in Q4 of the last tax year or actual yearly quarters when it would be Q1. Can get confusing at times knowing which they mean.

No your maths are right... but I meant it in a more figurative manner, that we are so extremely close to Q2, yet the release is still so vague.

I really shouldn't have had to explain this
